Adult Sprint Triathlon

The Lewisburg Sprint Triathlon, for racers 14 and over, was established in 2006 with 199 participants and has grown to more then 325 participants each year.


The race is chip timed with awards for the top male and female finishers, top three finishers in each 5 year age category, the top three 2 and 3 person teams and top three aqua-velo (swim-bike) finishers.


This is a great event for both first-time TRI-ers and avid racers. Participants receive water, post race food, finisher medal and a tech shirt guaranteed if registered by July 29th. The event is chip-timed.


Online registration will close on August 8th at noon.


Adult Triathlon – Saturday, August 10th, 8 AM start

Swim:  300 yards (pool swim)

Bike:  15.1 miles (open roads)

Run:  3.25 miles (open roads)


PACKET PICK-UP AND BODY MARKING:  Pick-up will take place on Saturday morning from 6 AM – 7:40 AM at the Lewisburg Ice Rink.  All participants must be checked in my 7:40 AM and attend the race meeting at 7:45 AM.


SWIM:  The swim take place in the Lewisburg Community Pool. Swimmers will be started every 15 seconds based on expected swim time. Swimmers will swim in a serpentine fashion up and down the lanes starting at one side of the pool and finishing at the other. Flip turns are not allowed. Warm ups are allowed in the diving area starting at 6:30 AM.


TRANSITION:  The transition area is a gravel area near the pool. Bikes are racked in a first come – first racked fashion the morning of the race. The transition area opens to participants at 6 AM.


BIKE:  The bike course is 15.1 miles of rolling hills. The bike course is on open roads and cyclists must yield to traffic.


RUN:  The run is a basically flat out and back route with a small incline at approximately 1.5 miles. There will be a water station.




Youth Triathlon – Friday, August 9th, 6 PM start

The kids’ Triathlon was started in 2007 from an idea presented to the triathlon committee by Dr. Larry Winans. It was an immediate success and wonderful addition to the adult event. The kids’ tri is for children ages 7 to 14 and is meant to introduce youngsters to the sport of triathlon. The event in non-competitive, however it is chip timed. All participants receive a medal and those registered by July 29th will receive a t-shirt but ALL will feel the satisfaction of finishing!


The MANDATORY race meeting will be held at 5:50pm in the pool area. One parent/guardian and your child MUST be present. We would like to start the event as soon as the meeting is over, so please be on time.

Ages 7 – 9: (Kids will wear RED shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear RED)

Swim:  25 yards

Bike:  Approximately .9 miles

Run:  Approximately .25 miles


Ages 10 – 12: (Kids will wear BLUE shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear BLUE)

Swim:  50 yards

Bike:  Approximately 1.8 miles

Run:  Approximately .4 miles


Ages 13 – 14: (Kids will wear GREEN shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear GREEN)

Swim:  100 yards

Bike:  Approximately 2.7 miles

Run:  Approximately .6 miles


Youth Triathlon Pricing (individual only):

July 1 – race day:  $30


You may park in the parking lot across from the pool, in the skate park parking lot or in the CSSI parking lot on 15th Street. PLEASE NOTE: All of these lots are situated along the triathlon routes so you will not be able to leave until the event is over. If you anticipate that you will have to leave early, I recommend parking along the street in the neighborhoods surrounding the pool.

Please plan to pick up your child’s race number and t-shirt on Friday from 5:00 to 5:45 pm at the park picnic tables near the tennis courts. Race t-shirts are colored coded by age group and must be worn during the bike and run portion of the event. The 7-9ers will wear RED, 10-12ers will wear BLUE and 13-14ers will wear GREEN.  I recommend that you dress your child in the appropriate color t-shirt in case they don’t like the way the race t-shirt fits or if you registered after we placed our t-shirt order.

You may drop off your bike/gear in the morning at the transition area in the Ice Rink Parking Lot located on St. Lawrence Street, however you CANNOT park on St. Lawrence St. Please drop off your materials and move on in a timely fashion to afford this opportunity to others.

Run570 reserves the right to cancel and/or alter the race in the event that natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstance prevents us from holding the race safely as planned. We will make every attempt to hold the event.  Any cancellations or changes, will be noted on the home page, race-specific page and on facebook.  In the event that a cancellation or change of date or venue is required, we are unable to provide refunds.
